Our Philosophy

Our Philosophy

IBACOS exists to help build the better home. Building better requires change, and we created PERFORM to aid builders in managing change.

As a software developer, IBACOS follows some organizing principles that set PERFORM apart from other construction platforms:

  1. We are built by and for the homebuilding industry
    • IBACOS has been serving homebuilders for 30+ years, and the software we build is an extension of that legacy. Our team of developers work closely with folks who walk jobsites day-in and day-out, so we're never far from the field.
  2. We prioritize those who use our tools the most
    • We work with large corporations, and often the decision-makers in those organizations are not the ones using the platform most often. It's important to us that we listen to our users just as much as our clients, because it makes the platform better for everyone. (See #3)
  3. Software is only as good as it's adoption
    • ...and product adoption is software's #1 challenge to helping our industry.
    • If people don't use software, then the features and data don't matter. There's a lot of "great" software out there that people don't use. That's why we prioritize features and development that will make the platform more accessible and easy-to-use.
    • We don't charge our clients to develop features that help our users, because it benefits everyone.
    • In fact, if anyone has an idea of how to make the platform better, we want to hear it. If you want to join in on the discussion, we have various product teams that meet to discuss PERFORM's future, and our roadmap (opens in a new tab) is a living document you can see for yourself.
  4. Data is an asset or a liability, but never neutral
    • We make it easy to collect data, but collecting data without making use of it is dangerous.
    • We make it just as easy to analyze the data, because collecting data and evaluating it is a gamechanger.
  5. Integrated software is the future
    • PERFORM is built to integrate from the ground-up. We don't want to do everything well, we just want to do one thing well, which is help drive quality construction. So to the extent possible, we want to connect PERFORM to anything else where it would be useful.
    • If our data is more useful to you in your data-warehouse, talk to us about connecting to our API to get real-time data updates.
    • We don't have a lot of other integrations yet, but we're built for it, and would love to hear any suggestions that might be helpful.
